At Moët Hennessy, crafting outstanding experiences around the world is a key priority, and this commitment has once again been exemplified with the launch of “Hennessy Africa Cypher 2024.” This showcase of lyrical masterpiece celebrates the incredible hip-hop talents across Africa.
Released in late June, the 8-minute showcase of lyrical brilliance features six major artists: Maglera Doe Boy, Didi B, Young Lunya, Khaligraph Jones, Ladipoe, and Sarkodie. Set in Lagos, Nigeria, each rapper brings their unique style and powerful wordplay, creating an exceptional collaboration that highlights the diversity and richness of African hip-hop.
Hennessy has a timeless legacy of amplifying bold voices in the global hip-hop community. This was firmly reinforced with Africa Cypher 2024, further cementing the brand’s deep ties to street culture. Jennifer (Chisom) Okuguni, Moët Hennessy’s Brand Manager, expressed her delight at the success of the project in a LinkedIn post. “Sometime in 2021, we sat in our office in Lagos and thought about a cypher but this time, an African cypher. We quickly put together a plan, and then went to work convincing our stakeholders that the regional cypher was a worthy investment,” she shared.
Okuguni also extended her gratitude to all those who made the project possible. “Major shouts to the artists, the production team, and all the vendors who worked tirelessly on this project,” she said.
