Sprite has extended its “It’s That Fresh” campaign into Kenyan campuses through the Hook’d on Fresh competition, a national creator platform running from April 1 to April 30 on spriteke.com.
The initiative carries a clear ambition of identifying and growing the next generation of Kenyan content creators.
Young creatives across the country are invited to participate, create, and stand a chance to win cash prizes, smartphones, and data bundles. Beyond the prizes, the platform offers something arguably more valuable, and that is visibility. A real opportunity to be discovered by brands and begin building careers as nano and micro-influencers.
To set creators up for success, Sprite has introduced the Hook’d on Fresh Masterclasses, developed in partnership with Safaricom. The sessions are led by top creators and voices including Charisma, Collo Blue, Carrie Wahu, Tileh Pacbro, Vallery, and Cluster KE, alongside industry experts shaping the digital space.

The focus is on what drives content performance, how to build content that cuts through, and how to turn creativity into income. Sessions cover the full creator journey from how to start and stand out, to understanding trends, growing an audience, navigating brand collaborations, and monetising content. Guidance on responsible creation including data privacy and building sustainably in the digital space is also on the curriculum.
The initiative kicked off on March 13 at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), drawing close to 1,000 students. It has since continued at University of Eldoret on March 19 and Africa Nazarene University on March 26, with Pwani University scheduled next on April 10.
Across the campus tour, the programme is expected to reach over 40,000 students through a mix of creator-led sessions, basketball court activations, and on-ground sampling.
The Hook’d on Fresh competition is open to everyone in Kenya. Spriteke.com acts as the central hub, where creators can register, access content inspiration, and track their performance through a live leaderboard. Views are aggregated across platforms, making progress transparent and competitive.
The platform also provides clear examples of content formats across music, fashion, sport, and comedy, helping creators understand how to approach the challenge.
All content creators who participate and meet set performance benchmarks will be rewarded, encouraging consistency and creativity over time. The visibility generated through the platform also allows emerging creators to build a body of work that brands can tap into, for many, a starting point to move from casual content creation into structured opportunities and partnerships.
Partnership with Safaricom ensures that participation is not limited by access. Through its Hook platform and data offerings, creators are better equipped to produce and share content consistently. Creators looking to get involved can register on spriteke.com, create original work, and track performance in real time.
