FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria won two prizes at the European Business Chamber Nigeria’s Gala and Awards Night in Lagos, held in early October 2026. The dairy company, which makes Peak, Three Crowns and Coast milk, took the awards for manufacturing and industrial excellence and for circular economy and environmental impact.
The chamber, known as Eurocham, held the evening after its 8th annual general meeting at the Lagos Continental Hotel on Victoria Island. At that meeting Yann Gilbert ended his term as president and Giovanni Di Gregorio joined the board. Chigozie Okwara, the chamber’s general manager, said the night reflects the shared vision of European companies operating in Nigeria. The list of winners and the judging criteria were not available at the time of writing.
What the prizes show
The awards are peer recognition from a business chamber, and they do not verify the claims behind them. Eurocham described the evening as recognising corporate achievement, operational excellence and sustainable business practice, but no scoring has been published, so the two wins cannot be compared with other entrants. The company’s own account says the prizes reflect work on manufacturing performance and more circular ways of working across its operations.

The results behind them
The company’s 2025 results give the commercial backdrop. Revenue rose 25 per cent to ₦615.9 billion from ₦493.6 billion, and profit before tax rose from ₦4.9 billion to ₦32.7 billion after lower finance costs and borrowing. Profit after tax was ₦18.4 billion, against a loss of ₦749 million in 2024.
Roger Adou, the managing director, said more than 13,000 farmers were trained in 2025 and raw milk volumes rose 19 per cent, figures the company reported itself. Those numbers bear on the circular economy award only loosely, since the company has not said which waste or packaging measures were judged.
What to watch
No figures on recycled packaging or waste diverted from landfill accompanied the announcement, so the circular economy award rests on claims readers cannot yet check. Publication of the winners list and of the company’s next sustainability disclosure would show how much weight the prize carries.
