Joy Egolum, Nigerian Breweries‘ Corporate Affairs Manager for the eastern region, has been nominated for Corporate Affairs Leader of the Year at the AMTY Corporate Affairs Awards, with the fifth edition of the ceremony set for 18 July 2026 in Awka.

Egolum covers public affairs, government relations, regulatory compliance, and external communications across eight states in Nigeria’s east and Middle Belt. The nomination cites her role in managing corporate-community relations across a region where NB has been navigating both brand repositioning and FX-driven cost pressure.

She has been the most visible public spokesperson for NB’s eastern operations over the past two years. During the Life Beer relaunch in Enugu in early 2025, Egolum framed the company’s shift to local raw  material  sourcing as both a cost response to FX depreciation and a deliberate community compact, a positioning that has carried through subsequent brand activations in the region.

Before joining NB, she held supply chain and procurement roles at Coca-Cola HBC, FrieslandCampina WAMCO, and Unilever, where she managed sourcing across Nigeria and Ghana. That operational background has visibly shaped how she articulates NB’s cost and localisation arguments in public settings.

Drinkabl.media’s Beverage People coverage recently tracked another senior personnel development at the brewer, with NB appointing Nkechi Runsewe as incoming HR Director, effective August 2026. NB’s eastern market is also a recurring presence in Drinkabl’s brand activation coverage, reflecting how actively brewers are using live events to build visibility in non-Lagos markets.

The AMTY competition spans professionals across finance, law, manufacturing, and public service. The ceremony will be chaired by Joe Ezigbo, Falcon Corporation founder and 2024 Anambra Man of the Year.
