The Nigerian drinks and sausage maker took the fast-moving consumer goods corporate brand prize, and Managing Director Seleem Adegunwa was named brand entrepreneur of the year.
Rite Foods Limited won two honours at the 2026 Marketing Edge Awards in Lagos on 25 September. Adegunwa received Outstanding FMCG Brand Entrepreneur of the Year, and the company took Outstanding FMCG Corporate Brand of the Year. FMCG stands for fast-moving consumer goods, and no financial terms apply to the awards.
What the company said
Ekuma Eze, head of corporate affairs and sustainability, tied the corporate award to product quality, research, consumer-led innovation, sustainability and technology use. Adegunwa credited the company’s employees and its focus on innovation, quality and value.
A repeat win in a busy year
This is not the first time Rite Foods has taken the corporate brand prize. A report on Adegunwa’s MIPAD honour says the company won the same category at the 2025 Edge Awards, the earlier name for the event. Adegunwa was also named Industrialist of the Year by Vanguard Media on 24 April 2026, at the 14th Vanguard Personality of the Year Awards. In July, Rite Foods reported two wins at the 2026 National Sustainability Achievements Awards, for carbonated drink formulation and clean energy.
What Rite Foods sells
The company launched in 2007 as a subsidiary of Ess-Ay Holdings and makes its products at a factory in Ososa, Ogun State. Its drinks include 13 variants of Bigi carbonated soft drinks, Bigi Premium Drinking Water, five Sosa fruit drink variants and Fearless Energy Drink. Sausages sit alongside them under the Rite Spicy Beef, Bigi Beef and Bigi Flex names. LIDA Malt is the newest addition, and the company has not given a launch date.
Rite Foods says it supports about 3,000 direct jobs and more than 12,000 indirect ones. Those figures come from the company’s own sustainability reporting.

The sustainability figures
Rite Foods presented its 2025 Sustainability Report in Lagos on 24 July. It reported greenhouse gas emissions down more than 5%, carbon intensity down 23%, water-use efficiency up 15% and solid waste per litre produced down 27%. Natural gas supplies over 93% of its energy, and the company targets net zero carbon by 2060.
Ernst & Young reviewed the report, but Eze said the limited assurance covered the social pillar only. The environmental figures above are therefore the company’s own. Community spending rose to ₦581.92 million in 2025 from ₦387.89 million a year earlier.
What the awards do not show
Marketing Edge honours brand and marketing work, so the awards say nothing on their own about market share, revenue or profit. Rite Foods is privately held, and the public record on its finances is thin. Whether Bigi, Fearless, Sosa and now LIDA Malt are gaining shelf space is a question the awards leave open.
