HEINEKEN Beverages has appointed Tshidi Ramogase as Director of Corporate Affairs, bringing one of Africa’s most experienced beverage industry sustainability and public affairs executives into a role that sits at the centre of stakeholder engagement, policy management and corporate reputation.
The appointment was announced by HEINEKEN Beverages on June 17. Ramogase will oversee corporate affairs strategy and support the company’s stakeholder partnerships while helping drive the execution of HEINEKEN’s Brew a Better World sustainability agenda.
For HEINEKEN Beverages, the hire adds a senior executive with deep experience navigating regulatory, sustainability and reputation challenges across African beverage markets. Corporate affairs functions have become increasingly important for brewers as governments across the continent review excise frameworks, environmental regulations and packaging recovery obligations.

Ramogase joins the brewer after more than 14 years at Coca-Cola Beverages Africa, where she served as Chief Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability Officer. In that role, she oversaw public affairs and sustainability operations across 15 African markets and played a leading role in shaping corporate engagement strategies around water stewardship, packaging recovery, youth development and women-focused economic inclusion programmes.
Her appointment also highlights the growing competition for senior sustainability and public affairs talent among multinational beverage companies operating in Africa. As environmental reporting requirements expand and extended producer responsibility programmes mature in several markets, companies are placing greater emphasis on executives capable of balancing regulatory engagement with long-term sustainability commitments.
Beyond her Coca-Cola tenure, Ramogase has served on several industry and development-focused boards, including The Beverage Association of South Africa and PETCO, one of South Africa’s leading producer responsibility organisations. That experience provides familiarity with the policy and industry networks that increasingly influence packaging, recycling and sustainability outcomes across the beverage sector.
HEINEKEN said Ramogase would focus on strengthening stakeholder relationships while supporting reputational growth. The company also cited her track record in sustainability, inclusive growth and social development as key factors behind the appointment.
The move comes as major beverage producers across Africa continue to expand investment in sustainability programmes while facing rising expectations from regulators, investors and consumers. For HEINEKEN Beverages, the challenge now shifts from strategy design to execution, particularly as sustainability commitments become more closely tied to operational performance and corporate accountability.
